The Foundation for Rural Living is calling for your nomination
to the
5th Annual Awards of Rural Excellence program.  At last
year’s award ceremony Gary Davison, Chair of the Foundation
announced, “Rural Ontario is abundant with excellence and I
challenge all of you to seize the opportunity to cultivate and
illuminate the goodness in rural and profile your community
through the
Awards of Rural Excellence.”

There are 7 Award categories:
•Excellence in Community Leadership
•Excellence in Formal Co-operative Models
•Excellence in Economic Development
•Outstanding Voluntarism and/or Partnership in the Voluntary
  Sector - dedicated to Eugene Lammerding, Chair Foundation
  for Rural Living 1989 - 2002
•Outstanding Rural Youth Achievement
•Outstanding Philanthropic Action
•Outstanding Partnership with Business 

The stories of past recipients remind all of us that it is possible
to make a difference, to make positive change, to prosper by
working together and to strive towards excellence.

If know of a group, association, organization, municipality or
program in your rural community...let us know with your
nomination...we want to honour them!

This year we are very proud to present the 5th Annual Awards of Rural Excellence program in partnership with founding sponsor Pioneer Hi-Bred Limited, The Co-operators, the Province of Ontario - Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing,
Union Gas and The Ontario Rural Council.

The 2003 Awards of Rural Excellence will be presented on October 20, 2003 at the Deerhurst Resort, Huntsville, Ontario in conjunction with The Ontario Rural Council’s 6th Annual Rural Development Conference.

Award recipients will receive a commemorative artistic glass award, as well as a cash contribution to their non-profit or charity of choice.
